What is it?

Eyelid surgery may be performed to rejuvenate puffy, saggy, or tired looking eyes and improve vision. By removing excess skin, muscle, and fat from the upper or lower lids fine wrinkles, bags, and droopy eyelids may be corrected.

A good candidate for eyelid surgery has realistic and positive goals in mind. Below is a listing of some common conditions that may be corrected by eyelid surgery.

  • Excess skin or fat that changes the natural fold of the upper lids
  • Loose upper lid skin that may obscure normal vision
  • A puffy appearance to the upper or lower eyelids
  • Excess skin and fine wrinkles of the lower eyelids
  • Bags and circles under eyes
  • Lower eyelid droopiness

If you are seriously interested in having cosmetic plastic surgery the best way for you to find out what procedures might benefit you the most is to schedule an in-depth consultation with Dr. Glenn Jelks.

Upper eyelid surgery removes wrinkled folds of skin on the upper lids that can create hooding, and lower eyelid surgery removes puffy under eye bags.

Incisions follow the natural contours of your upper and lower lids and blend into natural creases.

After surgery your appearance is brighter, more alert and rested.

Practice Closure & Retirement

After more than 40 years of practicing medicine together, Drs. Elizabeth and Glenn Jelks have made the decision to retire and will be closing Glenn W. Jelks, M.D., P.C. (the “Practice”) as of August 31, 2026. We will no longer be able to provide medical care after that date.

Caring for you has been an extraordinary privilege, and we remain deeply grateful for the trust you placed in us. The Practice has always been intentionally small and personal, and the relationships we’ve built through the years are more than words can express.

Your continued care is important. We encourage you to establish care with a board-certified plastic surgeon or appropriate specialist who aligns with your goals.

Your medical records will remain confidential and securely maintained for six years, or as otherwise required by applicable law, after the Practice closes. During this time, if you would like a copy of your records or wish to have them released to your new provider, please complete this request form, which includes an authorization for your completion.

We extend to you our best wishes for your future health and happiness.

Warm regards,
Glenn W Jelks MD
